# Staff every seat on your _weekend._

Saturday’s matches and Sunday’s panels on one slate. Offer each seat to someone who can actually take it. They tap yes on their phone. You see what’s covered, and who worked it.

- Officiating — a referee crew on a match

- Adjudication — a judging panel on a division

- **4** events on Saturday
- **16** seats to staff
- **2** venues across town

The example Saturday on this page, seat by seat.

## Staff this weekend.

Four events. The dots are seats. Offer someone who can make the drive — they see who asked, the venue, and the pay, then they tap. The switch changes what the chapter staffs, and nothing else.

how a weekend goes

## Write it once, offer it, pay it.

### Write the weekend

Matches and panels, the venues, the crew each one needs — three officials on the 9 o’clock, five judges on Senior Level 5. One sheet. Not a group text and a spreadsheet.

**4 events** 16 seats, on one sheet

### Offer the next person who can

Who is free, close enough, certified, and still cleared for that seat. You send the offer. assignary does not guess.

**6 of 31** can actually take this seat

### They tap yes or no

On their phone: the match or the panel, the start time, the pay. If they pass, the next person gets it — and anyone who pre-committed already has it.

**One tap** and the seat is theirs

### Pay the people who worked

Mark who worked, who did not show, who was excused. The fees you wrote follow the crew that worked it. You settle the weekend instead of rebuilding it.

**One run** everybody paid, on Monday

the record

## Show who was cleared and who worked.

Who said yes is half of it. The rest is what you can show afterwards: the person in that seat was cleared for it, and the game got worked.

### Clearances

Cleared means they hold what the seat asks for, on the day it happens.

A clearance that lapses before the game bars the seat.

What one carries

**Clearances** _per chapter · per sport_

What it is

A name the chapter’s sport list asks for, matched however it was typed.

Who issued it

The body named on it, and the date. Free text: there is no registry here.

Who entered it

The person who typed in what they were shown.

Who checked it

A second name, or nobody yet — and never the issuing body.

When it lapses

A date, or nothing at all for a clearance that does not.

If it is pulled

It stays on the record as withdrawn rather than disappearing.

### Outcomes

Worked, no-show, or excused — marked against the seat.

What can be marked

**Outcomes** _an assigner’s to write_

Three answers

Worked, no-show, excused. Somebody who called ahead is not somebody who did not.

Whose it is

An assigner’s. Nobody marks their own seat.

Which seats

Only one somebody accepted. A declined offer is a negotiation that ended.

Not in advance

Nothing can be marked before the game has started.

A correction

Allowed, and the answer it replaced is kept rather than overwritten.

Called off

Calling a game off clears what was marked on it and releases the crew.

### The trail

Every move on a seat leaves a row saying who made it.

What a row says

**The trail** _append-only · one event at a time_

The moves

Offered, accepted, declined, lapsed, escalated, withdrawn, marked, disputed.

Who did it

The member — or assignary itself, where it moved a seat with nobody present.

Where

The chapter, and the seat or the position it happened to.

Acting for somebody

A credential acting for a person is a different row from that person acting.

With the change

An accept, an outcome and a called-off game commit with their row or not at all.

Who reads it

An assigner, beside the event they are already looking at. Not a chapter-wide feed.

### A disagreement

The official can say the record is wrong, and the money waits.

How it runs

**A disagreement** _the official’s to raise_

Whose it is

The official’s, on their own seat, in their own words rather than a reason code.

When

Only once something has been recorded. There is nothing to disagree with before that.

What it stops

The weekend settlement leaves that seat out, and settling it alone is refused by name.

Two ways out

The assigner changes the record, which answers it in the same write — or leaves it as it stands.

No timer

Nothing expires it. A timer would settle it in the direction the missing check did.

Who reads it

The assigner. What the official wrote is not the rest of the crew’s business.

### A receipt

An official can take their own record with them.

What is in one

**A receipt** _one signed file · one chapter_

About

One official and one chapter, by id. No name travels in it.

Offers

Sent, accepted, and the ones somebody has since answered for.

Outcomes

Worked and no-show, counted from what was marked against each seat.

Answering

Median seconds from offer to accept, and how many answers beat the deadline.

Clearances

Each one held and not withdrawn, its expiry, and a handle to ask about it later.

Signed

Ed25519 over the claims with their keys sorted at every depth, and the id of the key.

Drawn at

A moment, and it says so. Afterwards only the clearances can be asked about.

### A standing check

One clearance, asked about later, by somebody with an account.

What comes back

**A standing check** _one credential · four answers_

The answer

Valid, expired, revoked or unknown, with the time it was asked.

Nothing else

No name, no chapter, no official, no history.

Unknown is not revoked

Saying a credential was withdrawn when it never existed is its own kind of lie.

What valid means

Recorded, unexpired, not withdrawn. Never that anyone rang the issuing body.

Who may ask

Somebody with an account, or a credential a chapter issued. Not a passer-by.

Counted

Every check counts against the caller’s day. A chapter sees how often theirs asked, never what about.

around the slate

## Your slate, on their phone and their calendar.

It starts as a sheet. It travels as a text or an email. It lands on the calendar. The drive decides who can take the next one. assignary is the slate in the middle.

- Workbooks

The weekend still arrives as a workbook — from the league, the club, the circuit’s competition director, last year’s assigner. Import a .csv or .xlsx so you do not retype every row.

- Calendars

When they say yes, it should already be on their phone. A feed any calendar subscribes to — Google, Apple, Outlook. The match or the panel, the venue, the start time, done.

- Drive times

A 9 o’clock match and a 1 o’clock panel can look fine on paper and still be impossible. An estimate from home to the venue, straight-line at road speed — and a missing pin says so, instead of inventing zero.

- Notifications

Officials and judges do not live in an app. The offer should show up where they already are — a text, an email, a push to the app. The seat, the venue, the pay. They tap the link.

- Pay

You pay. They get paid that week. Monday morning is not a Venmo list and a pile of I-think-they-worked — you marked who worked, and the money follows that.
