moving over
From a spreadsheet and a group text.
Bring the crew you already have, put the league’s schedule in without retyping it, and run a weekend here before you move the rest. Assigning is free. You pay when you pay the refs.
Bring the crew you already have
A chapter is your club, league or association. Every chapter has a join code, shown in the console where you invite officials. A sign-up link that carries it puts whoever signs up through it on your roster as an official, so one message in the group chat you already run brings the crew over. Replace the code and the link stops admitting anybody.
The link, and two other ways in
The link is the console’s sign-up address with the code after it: https://app.assignary.com/sign-up?code= and your code.
Or invite one person at a time. An invitation link admits one person, and with their email address it is mailed to them.
Or type your roster in first, a name and an email address each. Each person is mailed a link, and claims their row by signing in through it, with what you recorded already on it.

Bringing your crew over
An assigner copies the chapter's join link, two officials who sign up through it are on the roster, and a third is invited at their own email address.
Demo club — fictional people and games.
- A chapter starts with nobody on its roster.
- The assigner copies the chapter's join link.
- Two officials sign up through it, and are on the roster.
- Anybody else is invited at their own email address.
- The invitation is mailed, and only that address can use it.

What an official sees first
Alex Carter invited you to join Burrow County Officials on Assignary
Alex Carter invited you to officiate League Play for Burrow County Officials.
Once you join, offers come to this address, each with the game, the time, the venue and the fee.
You accept or decline each one.
When Burrow County Officials pays through Assignary, you are paid the whole fee for each game you work, through Stripe to your own bank.
This link is for this address alone. Open it to join.
To stop invitations to this address, open the link under it.

They sign in with a code sent to their email, with no password to set, and state that they are 18 or older. Every invitation mail carries a way to stop the next one.
Put the league’s schedule in
Import a .csv or .xlsx workbook and each row becomes a game. The console shows every row before anything is written, with what is wrong on a row it cannot read. One file carries up to 200 games.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| date and time, or start | The day and the start time, on your chapter’s clock. One start column can hold both. |
| duration | The game’s length in minutes. A game with none is given 2 hours. |
| home, away | A match’s two sides. |
| title | A panel’s own name: a division, a session, a ring. |
| entrants | The teams, gyms or clubs entered, with a semicolon between them. |
| venue, address | Where it is played, by name, and the address. |
| lat, lng | The venue’s pin, which drive times are measured from. |
| sport, level | Which of the chapter’s sports the game is, and the level it is played at. |
| fee, or pay dollars or pay cents | What each seat on the game pays. A column headed pay dollars or pay cents names its unit. |
| id | The league’s own id for the game. |
Every seat on a game takes the game’s fee. A sheet with no fee column is asked for one fee before it is written, and 0 means the games are unpaid.
Run both for a weekend
One weekend can be written, offered and covered here while the spreadsheet still runs the rest. Nothing is charged for a weekend nobody settles here.
What you can take with you
A chapter’s owner downloads one zip of spreadsheets for a range of dates: the games and every offer of a seat on them, the roster and members as they stand, and what the chapter was charged and its officials were paid. The games file is headed the way the import reads it, so it goes back in.
Each person downloads their own record as one file from their account screen, and an official’s signed record of their work goes with them to their next association.
If your association requires another system
Assignary does not replace a system an association requires.
