what it costs
Assigning is free. Each seat your club pays through Assignary has a price.
Assignary is where a club, league or association assigns its referees and judges, records the work and pays for it. A league or an association is a club here too. A seat is one official’s place on a game’s crew. There’s no subscription, no setup fee and no contract. A referee or a judge pays nothing to take a seat or to be paid.
The price

Assignary adds this for each seat you pay for. The percentage is worked out on that seat’s fee. Its referee or judge is still sent the whole fee. These prices hold from October 6, 2026.
What the fee buys
- The pay list, drawn from who took each seat and who was marked a no-show or excused
- A weekend paid through Stripe by card, bank transfer or bank debit, with the refs’ fees, the seat fees and the percentage as lines of their own
- The whole fee sent to each referee and judge, at no cost to them
- A seat whose official disputes the record, held out of the payment until an assigner answers
- What the club paid each official in a calendar year
The club pays at Stripe’s checkout. It doesn’t open a payments account of its own. Officials give their bank details to Stripe, never to Assignary.
What’s free
- Putting the weekend in, sending offers and seeing what’s covered
- Marking a no-show or an excused seat
- A seat with no fee, which is never charged for
- Taking a seat and being paid, for a referee or a judge. If they ask for their pay right away, that costs them 1.75% of what is paid out, at least $1.
Price your weekend, and your season
Set the seats, the fee on each, the weekends in your season and how you pay. The percentage is worked out on each seat’s fee and rounded up to the cent. One payment carries up to 50 seats. A bigger weekend is paid for in batches of 50, earliest games first. Each batch is a payment of its own, from the same Pay page.

By bank, the same seats are charged the lower rate. A bank debit through Stripe’s checkout adds Stripe’s $1.50 fee for linking the bank account.

A season plan, if your purchasing office wants one invoice
With a season plan, your club pays the seat fees ahead of time, in a block. The seat fee is the $3.50 part of each seat’s price. Each block is one invoice, paid by bank transfer. Each weekend is still paid for on its own, for the refs’ fees and the percentage. When a weekend is paid for by bank, its seat fees come out of the block.

The terms a plan is sold on
- A term of 3 to 12 months, which starts the day the first block is paid and never renews itself.
- One invoice for each block, due 30 days after it is sent and carrying your purchase order number where you give one — paid by bank transfer. A wire adds Stripe’s $15 to what the club owes.
- A block’s seats are drawn once its invoice is paid, and not before. Until the first block is paid, weekends are charged at the price a seat.
- A weekend paid by card is charged at the price a seat, and draws on no block: a plan’s seats are drawn on a bank payment.
- Seats a weekend does not use stay in the block for the next one, until the term ends. What is left then expires, unless you renew before the term ends: the renewal takes over when its invoice is paid and carries what is left forward, up to 10% of the smaller of the two blocks.
- A weekend past the block’s last seat is billed at the plan’s own price a seat, as a line on that weekend’s charge, and a top-up sells another block of the same size at the same price.
- A block’s payment disputed or given back suspends the plan.
- The quote carries the block, an estimate of the crew’s fees for a blanket purchase order and the invoice’s terms.
