for your treasurer
For your treasurer: one page.
What Assignary costs a club for a season, who pays what, when the refs are paid and which limits a payment meets. A chapter is your club, league or association.
What a season costs
A club staffing 40 seats a weekend at $35 each, over ten weekends. Assigning is free. You pay when you pay the refs.
| For 40 seats | A weekend | The season |
|---|---|---|
| The refs’ fees | $1,400.00 | $14,000.00 |
| Added, by card | $189.20 | $1,892.00 |
| Added, by bank | $157.60 | $1,576.00 |
| Club pays, by card | $1,589.20 | $15,892.00 |
| Club pays, by bank | $1,557.60 | $15,576.00 |
What is added is $3.50 a seat plus 3.5% of each fee by card, or 1.25% by bank. The percentage is worked out on each seat’s fee and rounded up to the cent.
No contract
There is no subscription and no setup fee, and nothing is paid for a weekend until the club settles it.
Who pays what
The club pays its refs’ fees and what is added above. A referee or judge pays nothing to take a seat or to be paid. Paying takes the owner’s role, so a chapter’s treasurer is made one of its owners, and an owner can also assign and run the chapter.
When the refs are paid
| Way to pay | The refs are paid |
|---|---|
| Card | As the charge clears, where the card’s bank confirmed the cardholder or the payment came through Apple Pay or Google Pay. Every card payment asks the bank for that confirmation, and one taken without it waits 120 days after it clears. |
| Bank transfer | 6 business days after the transfer arrives, or as it arrives where the whole weekend came by US wire. |
| Bank debit | Plan on 65 days after the debit clears. It is 2 business days only where Stripe reports the account as a business’s, which it does not always do. |
Paying from the club’s bank account? Send a bank transfer by ACH: it is charged the lower rate, it carries no bank link fee and no wire fee, and the refs are paid 6 business days after it arrives.
The limits
One payment carries up to 50 seats. A bigger weekend is paid in batches of 50, earliest games first, each a payment of its own from the same settle page. A chapter starts with a ceiling of $5,000 on payments that can still be taken back at one time. A payment that would pass it is not taken. The ceiling rises to $25,000 once 3 of the chapter’s weekends have stood for 60 days: paid, their crews’ pay released, and never disputed.
If purchasing wants one invoice
A season plan prepays the seat fees in a block: one invoice, paid by bank transfer and due 30 days after it is sent. A plan is the club’s own choice, and it never renews itself.
Who runs it, and where the data lives
Assignary is made and run by Brick Sofa. Amazon Web Services hosts it in the United States, and Stripe handles payments and payouts. The chapter pays at Stripe’s checkout and opens no payments account of its own. Officials give their bank details to Stripe, never to Assignary. Assignary holds your officials’ details and has no field meant for players. Assignary is new. Your club would be among its first.
The free path
Assign here at no cost and go on paying the refs as the club does now until the board says yes. Nothing is charged for a weekend nobody settles here.
